The Way of the Holy Grail joins World Environment Day with a symbolic walk for a world without plastics
The union of territories must have solidarity, identity, intelligent, regenerative, circular and sustainable components.
Valencia / Naples / Toulouse, 26 May 2025.
On June 5, 2025, on the occasion of World Environment Day, The Way of the Holy Grail, Route of Knowledge, path of Peace Cultural Itinerary in the process of certification by the Council of Europe, founding member of the World Network of Solidarity, Smart, Regenerative and Circular Routes organizes a symbolic and educational walk in Valencia. Natalia Castro, an industrial doctoral student in regenerative tourism and local development, will explain the Solidarity Travellers platform and the studies she is carrying out at the RESITUR Local Impact Observatory.
Also, in different sections of their route through France and Italy they join this celebration with other specific actions related to the care of the environment. The initiative, aligned with the United Nations global campaign #BeatPlasticPollution, seeks to unite the spirituality of travel with ecological awareness.
The president of the itinerary, Dr. Ana Mafé García, points out “On The Way of the Holy Grail, each step is a promise for peace, knowledge… and now also for a healthier environment. Let’s add our footprints to leave a cleaner environment for our young #BeatPlasticPollution”.
The activity will consist of a thematic-cultural march of between 2 and 5 km in key heritage enclaves of The Way of the Holy Grail in the province of Valencia, accompanied by environmental awareness actions, symbolic collection of plastic waste and a participatory workshop open to the community.
Connecting culture and sustainability
The objective is twofold: on the one hand, to make visible the regenerative potential of spiritual and cultural tourism, and on the other, to raise awareness of the urgency of reducing the use of plastics in natural and historical environments. Through this collective action, a new way of walking is promoted, more respectful of the territory and aligned with the values of sustainability, solidarity and planetary health.
In the words of Natalia Castro, “celebrating this day with key actors in the territory is essential for the regeneration of the ecosystem, especially when activities are carried out focused on the transition from the traditional model of tourism to a more supportive, regenerative and conscious tourism”.
During the day, participants will be able to enjoy a program rich in educational and community values.
At 5:00 p.m. Meeting point at the door of the Massamagrell Cultural Center in front of the Line 3 metro station (Massamagrell stop).
